This Web page briefly explains the purpose and goal of Westside Baptist Church Discipleship Ministries. I pray that you would become part of it, that it will aid you in you Christian growth, and it will lead you to be part of the process of multiplying disciples for Jesus Christ.

Discipleship Ministries is about growing every Westside member to become a mature disciple of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is that we all grow in spiritual maturity (in every aspect of our lives) to the full measure of our Lord Jesus Christ. Some of the Westside members know Discipleship Ministries by its former name Discipleship Training. We changed the name to Discipleship Ministries to give more focus and clarity to the purpose of this ministry. But Discipleship Ministries has been changing almost from the time it was begun in 1895 as Baptist Young People's Union.

Mission
The Discipleship Ministries will strive to provide spiritual development opportunities in the following four areas of ministry:

This ministry will focus on guiding believers to grow in spiritual maturity. Through short-term courses, group members will be encourage to develop discipline and skills in witnessing, Bible study, prayer, stewarding, and a consistent devotional life.

2. Leadership Ministry
This ministry will provide training for members already serving in leadership positions, potential leaders, and training for specific servant-leader roles. The training will focus on serving in the Spirit of Christ, developing skills for effective ministry, and experiencing the joy of servanthood.

3. Family Life Ministry
This ministry task is to strengthen the family unit. The discipleship courses offered will help believers to develop harmonious relationships by learning to love, to support and forgive one another; learning positive parenting skills, and knowing how to strengthen marriage with the goal of becoming a Christ-centered family. The Family Life Ministry will address the diversities of families in our church:
