Prior to Jesus ascension to heaven,
He commanded the church to do two tasks as pertaining to
Christian Education. He commanded us to teach and to learn
(Matthew 28:18-20). Every church member is a disciple or
learner of Jesus Christ and is expected to learn of Jesus
through the Word of God and to grow (through obedience)
in Christ-likeness.
Mission
The mission of the Westside education
ministry is to teach the Word of God to all members that
we all may learn to have a continuous growing personal relational
fellowship with our Lord Jesus Christ. This love relationship
is centered on abiding in Christ through:
- Genuine Worship
- Real Fellowship among believers
- Transformational Discipleship
- Explosive Evangelism to the world
- Sacrificial Service rendered in Jesus'
name
The Bible teaches that every believer has
been saved to do "good works" which God has already
ordained (Ephesians 2:10). Therefore the purpose of the
Westside education ministry is to disciplizing God's people
for spiritual transformation in all aspects of their lives
and to assist (through gift-discover and ministry-training)
them to serve in their God-called ministry.
Vision
The vision of the Westside education ministry is to organize
the church to biblically educate members in achieving our
goal to be thoroughly equipped for ministry and serving together
in oneness resulting in the unity of our faith, biblical knowledge,
spiritual maturity and great love for one another (Ephesians
4:11-16).The education ministry consists of the following
entities that work together to achieve our mission, purpose
and vision:
