| Leading Westside Baptist Church
to spread God’s message throughout the Lewisville,
Texas area is where you will find Pastor Kenneth W. Blake.
Pastor Blake was called to preach the gospel
in April 1983 at the age of 25 when he was a member of Starlight
Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, Texas. Understanding
the seriousness of that calling, Pastor Blake enrolled in
Houston Bible Institute to further his biblical training.
With a thirst for advanced theological studies, Pastor Blake
and his wife Venita decided to move to the Dallas/Fort Worth
area to attend one of the theological schools in the area.
Kenneth W. Blake was ordained at Westside
Baptist Church in March of 1989 as the Pastor. He came with
God-given goals and a Bible-based vision for the church.
He strongly believes in the great commission and believes
that the Church should do all that it can to accomplish
that mission.
Pastor Blake feels that Westside should be
rooted and grounded in God’s word; which means that
church should be Bible-teaching, Bible-believing, and Bible-practicing.
His philosophy of the church’s mission in today’s
complex world is simple: Preach and Teach the word of God,
Implement programs to teach children and youth the way of
salvation and Make the word of God relevant to the hears.
Pastor Blake was born in Shreveport, Louisiana,
the fourth of six children. His family later moved to Houston,
Texas where he graduated from Kashmere High School in 1976.
From there, he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical
Engineering from Prairie View A. M. University’s School
of Engineering. After graduating in 1980, he married his
college sweetheart Venita Punch. In May of 1995, he earned
his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary
of Fort Worth, Texas. Pastor Blake plans to earn his doctorate
degree in the near future.
