FULFILLING THE VISION

I’m excited about the building of our new Worship Center because…

I am delighted and thrilled about the building of the church’s new Worship Center, not only because it is an expansion of Westside Baptist Church, but because it is an expansion of the magnificent Kingdom of God. The world is sailing through some stormy weather, and things always look as if they could be better. Many complain about how hard times are, nevertheless our church seeks to fulfill the vision of God, and the phrase “Forward by Faith” says it all. Westside is serving God by faithfully pursuing his vision in a particularly difficult time, a venture that will reap blessings unmatched and unparalleled.

I am also pleased to know that I attend a church that bases its actions on scripture; this led me to become rather interested in this particular endeavor. Fulfilling God’s vision can be a monumental task, and can only be accomplished by undying faith in the work of the Lord. In 1st Chronicles 28:20, David assures his son, Solomon that God will be with him as he embarks upon the task of building the Lord’s temple, saying, “…Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, My God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished” (NIV). This verse is an example of how moving “Forward by Faith” can generate great rewards.

It is a beautiful sight to see the Lord’s people come together and fully commit themselves to the will and vision of God. I am excited about my church’s desire to serve God through the expansion of His Kingdom, and I am eager to know that through it many a lost souls will be brought to Christ. I believe that with God on our side, we can achieve what may seem to be unattainable, and He will bless us munificently for our faithfulness and commitment to His work.
